A New Standard of Care Built on Connection, Culture, and Trust

A Message From Our Director

"When we started Unity & Care Services, we set out with a simple promise: to offer the kind of care we would want for our own families. Having worked directly with young people navigating Down Syndrome, mental health struggles, and complex behavioural challenges, I saw firsthand how much difference a compassionate, non-judgmental mentor can make.

Many families in our community face disability with silence or shame simply because no one took the time to understand their culture or speak their language. We are here to change that. By bringing empathy, counselling insights, and cultural respect into every home we enter, we walk beside young people to help them find their voice and step into their independence."

Our Mission

To empower young people aged 15 to 25 and multicultural families through culturally safe, mentor-driven support that breaks down disability stigma, builds real-life independence, and respects individual identity.

Our Vision

A world where every young person—regardless of disability, mental health challenge, or background—feels heard, respected, and equipped with the confidence to shape their own future.

Our Core Values

What We Stand For

We don't treat your home like a workplace; we treat your family with the care, respect, and dignity you deserve.

Cultural Safety & Respect

We honour your heritage, faith, and home rules without exception. From respecting prayer spaces to matching carers by gender preferences, your comfort is our priority.

Mentorship over Institutional Care

We move away from clinical, rigid care routines. Our carers act as supportive role models and peers who guide, encourage, and walk alongside young adults.

Zero Stigma & Active Inclusion

We actively challenge the shame or isolation surrounding disability in multicultural communities, helping families embrace their rights and integrate into community life proudly.

Dignity in Independence

True capacity building means teaching skills rather than doing tasks for you, helping participants build lifelong self-reliance.

Why Choose Us?

Experience culturally respectful, participant-focused support built on trust, meaningful relationships, practical guidance, and a genuine commitment to your independence.

Clinical Philosophy

Meet Our Care Team

Our support workers aren't just staff—they are handpicked mentors, advocates, and compassionate carers dedicated to making a tangible difference in daily life.

1. Youth & Cultural Mentor Carers

How They Help: Acting as an older peer and positive role model, these carers assist young people (15–25) to step out into the community, explore creative workshops, music, and sports, and navigate cultural boundaries with confidence. They focus on building social skills, self-expression, and personal identity.

2. Psychosocial & Mental Health Support Carers

How They Help: Trained in gentle de-escalation, active listening, and emotional grounding, these carers support participants dealing with anxiety, depression, psychosis, or bipolar conditions. They help create calm, predictable daily routines and offer a reassuring, safe presence during overwhelming moments.

3. Life Skills & Daily Independence Carers

How They Help: Working with total respect and patience, these carers assist participants with daily living tasks such as grooming, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and home organisation. Rather than taking over, they teach step-by-step habits that build pride and daily independence.

4. Recovery & Behavioural Support Mentors

How They Help: Specialised in supporting youth overcoming trauma, behavioural dysregulation, or substance recovery pathways. They offer non-judgmental guidance, help set personal boundaries, and support participants as they re-engage with education, job readiness, or positive lifestyle routines.
